"My Mom loved Nature and was a staunch advocate and tireless campaigner for environmental protection issues long before many people even thought about it, much less did anything. It is interesting that this is the only drawing of my Mother's I ever found that wasn't in one of her sketchbooks. She was a Gemini, and it is also interesting that the subject matter that she chose for this wonderful drawing is a little Rabbit, as Rabbit's essence and energy is (as with Gemini) a paradox. Rabbit has many stories that range from; being worshiped as a god, to being just a simple creature; a night dweller and also a day dweller; a timid animal, and one capable of great courage -- but for all it's fragility, it is never afraid to go on an adventure, and in some way all these qualities seem to fit my Mom's personality perfectly, especially the last one mentioned."
